The actress, who stars in the Oscar-nominated foreign language film The Salesman, said Thursday she is boycotting the awards show in response to the president's recent Iranian visa ban.

The Salesman, an Iranian drama which Amazon Studios is distributing in the U.S., follows the struggles of a couple as they rehearse Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.

The actress is not the first to take a stand against the policy, which stops all visa applications for a month from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Iran.
Others in the Iranian-American community -- including Washington-based nonprofit National Iranian American Council -- are calling out the government for the policy.
